Kelley graduated with high honors from the Art Institute with a Bachelors degree in Fine Art. She grew up in the family business, which pointed her in the direction where her career has taken her. Kelley continues to move forward each year with great determination.
Her inherent knowledge of space, architecture, fabrics, and furniture design translates into every project. Her vision is not only in the design, but she is looking into the future and designing with lifestyle in mind.
Her love is for travel, art, textiles, as well as architecture and design. No matter what it is, it is her fundamental understanding of the needs of her clients, that has made her such a success. With offices in Houston, and Los Cabos she is destined to play a prominent role in the future of interior design.
Primarily noted for custom residential designs, Mrs. Balke’™s list of projects also include country clubs, hotels, restaurants, and casinos. Projects have ranged from 1,800 square feet to 60,000 square feet, featuring remodeling and new construction. She has successfully completed international projects in Tanzania-Africa, Zanzibar-Africa, Canada, Mexico, and Panama.
Her credentials include a Bachelor in Science, a degree in Fine Arts, and is professionally certified in the state of Texas, as a full member of ASID (American Society of Interior Designers), and licensed professionally by NCIDQ (National Counsel for Interior Design Qualification).
She spent her first years in California working for the hospitality industry designing hotel and casinos for Yates & Silverman of Beverly Hills. After leaving California, she relocated to Houston, Texas turning her focus into high-end residential design. In 1998, the late Kenneth Schnitzer relocated her to Los Cabos, Mexico where she worked as the Design Director for the acclaimed resort Villas Del Mar until December of 2002. On January of 2003, Aida opened Balke & Associates.
